Kojic acid is a skin lightener that works through antioxidant activity. Kojic acid is a tyrosinase inhibitor, although it is not as effective as licorice extract. When combined with allantoin and other appropriate ingredients in sunscreen preparations, this mixture can inhibit UV-induced erythema and accelerate wound healing. It has also been found to be sensitive to the skin and may be irritating. |
