Applications | It exists in all biological tissues in the form of free or combined in nature, is a common component in plant and animal cells, and can be synthesized by microorganisms in the digestive tract to participate in the metabolism of sugars and lipids in the body. It is mainly in the form of phosphatidylinositol, which is most abundant in brain, heart and skeletal muscle. The plant mainly exists in the form of inositol phosphate, and can combine with calcium, zinc, iron and other insoluble compounds, interfering with its digestion and absorption. When inositol is lacking in animal diet, hair removal occurs, affecting development. Inositol is related to intracellular calcium metabolism, and its triphosphate derivatives can be released from lipid complexes after cell stimulation, acting as a second messenger to mobilize intracellular calcium ions and regulate many cellular activities, such as secretion, metabolism, photoconduction and cell division. |
